New Year Message from ICHCA’s Chair 2026

It is an honour to address you for the first time as Chair of ICHCA International. I am grateful for the warm welcome I have received from our global community and for the strong foundations laid by my predecessor. ICHCA continues to be a unique forum where expertise is shared openly, collaboration thrives and the common purpose of protecting people drives everything we do.

Throughout 2025, our organisation delivered a substantial programme of work. We strengthened our technical guidance, expanded our data analysis, contributed to the development of global standards and deepened engagement with industry partners. These achievements reflect the extraordinary commitment of our members, project teams and working groups.

As we enter 2026, our ambition is clear. We will launch major new tools, expand our influence at the IMO, ISO and other international bodies, deliver new guidance on critical safety topics, refresh our digital presence and host an even more interactive members’ conference. Perhaps most significantly, we will launch our accident data sharing and benchmarking system — a major step toward a safer global industry.
