CTUpack e-learning

OVERVIEW

Enhance safety and compliance in cargo operations with the CTUpack E-learning Courses provided by NCB Hazcheck. These are designed for packers, loaders, and logistics professionals who prepare, pack, and unpack containers for transport.

These interactive online courses are based on the IMO/ILO/UNECE Code of Practice for Packing of Cargo Transport Units (CTU Code), a global, non-mandatory standard jointly developed by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the International Labour Organization (ILO), and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).

The CTU Code provides comprehensive guidance on the safe packing and securing of cargo in all types of Cargo Transport Units (CTUs), particularly freight containers. It covers:

  • Best practices for loading and securing cargo,
  • Requirements across sea and land transport modes,
  • Guidance for those packing, receiving, and unpacking units,
  • Considerations for packing dangerous goods,
  • The importance of training throughout the intermodal transport chain.

The NCB Hazcheck e-learning courses bring the CTU Code to life through:

  • Interactive content and real-world examples to help learners apply the guidance,
  • References to international regulations for added context and compliance,
  • Practical scenarios that build both foundational knowledge and hands-on skills.

Currently available courses in this series include:

  • An Introduction to the CTU Code and how to access it for guidance on safe cargo packing,
  • An overview of key considerations when preparing and loading containers.
