Safety Village Draws Record Interest at TOC Europe 2026

The fifth ICHCA Safety Village at TOC Europe this year held in Hamburg proved to be another outstanding success, attracting strong attendance throughout the event and reaffirming its position as a focal point for safety innovation within the global cargo handling industry.
Delivered in partnership with TT Club and TOC Worldwide, the Safety Village brought together an impressive programme of more than 30 expert speakers, industry leaders and technology innovators, creating a vibrant forum for discussion, collaboration and the exchange of practical ideas to improve safety across ports, terminals and the wider logistics sector.
Across two days of presentations, panel discussions and live demonstrations, delegates explored some of the industry’s most pressing safety challenges, from operational risk management and workforce safety to the latest technological innovations designed to reduce incidents and improve operational resilience. The consistently full audience and high levels of interaction demonstrated the industry’s growing commitment to placing safety at the heart of cargo handling operations.
The exhibition pods also generated considerable interest, giving innovative companies the opportunity to showcase practical solutions while engaging directly with terminal operators, ports, shipping lines and other stakeholders seeking to enhance safety performance.
Richard Steele, CEO of ICHCA International, commented:
“The continued success of the Safety Village reflects the industry’s recognition that safety is fundamental to efficient and sustainable operations. The quality of the discussions, the enthusiasm of participants and the willingness to share knowledge and experience were extremely encouraging. We are grateful to all our speakers, exhibitors, partners and delegates who helped make this year’s event such a success.”
The Safety Village remains an integral part of the year-round collaboration between ICHCA and TT Club to promote innovation in safety, alongside the TT Club Innovation in Safety Awards. Together, these initiatives continue to encourage the development and adoption of practical solutions that make cargo handling safer, more secure and more sustainable.
Our sincere thanks to TT Club, TOC Worldwide, all speakers, exhibitors and attendees for their support and contribution to another memorable and highly successful Safety Village. We look forward to building on this momentum at future events.
