VGM Period of Grace Ends on 1st October

The three month grace period suggested by the IMO, urging authorities to adopt a ‘practical and pragmatic’ approach to SOLAS VGM officially ends tomorrow on Saturday 1st October. Long-time champion of the cause of safer container transport and a leading insurer of the international freight industry, TT Club believes that, although reported levels of compliance since the introduction of VGM on 1st July have been encouraging, much still needs to be done to achieve accurate VGM certification and universal enforcement of the rules. Ahead of this, the TT-Club provides an assessment of what this will mean for the future of the industry which you can read here.
